One Part Inspiration...

Yesterday, I was listening to the news on the radio.  They were talking about how the Yellowhead Highway had been closed because of all the snow.  I know that area gets some bizarre spring storms.  Last year about the same time of year, I had gone to see my sister.  She took me down to see her daughter (my niece)  who was living in the same area as they'd mentioned on yesterday's news.  We had a lovely afternoon together.  We got to see where she lived, and went to school.  We met her teachers and class mates.  We went out for a quick bite to eat, and then decided to catch a movie.  By the time we came out of the movie, the highway had been closed because a storm had moved in and made driving too treacherous.  So we stayed overnight with my cousin and his wife (my niece's landlords).  They graciously provided us with nighties and toothbrushes and in the morning, it had cleared enough to make the journey back...

We have begun the "process" of moving. Maybe I should say, the "pieces" of moving. There seems to be so much to remember. I keep making lists. And then losing them. Some of what we are doing, is paring down. We need to fit inside a smaller place, where we will live, while we renovate the permanent abode. I suddenly woke up this morning and realized, that I have moved many of the kitchen items, except for the dishes, cutlery and pots and pans, and we will have to find a place for them too. Some of what we are doing it moving items we don't need immediately, to the Pokeaway. Workshop, camping, Christmas, crafts, books, music, good dishes, pots and pans, blankets, tablecloths.........the list seems to be growing, rather than diminishing. It is good to have older kids who can carry boxes and put them into the van and take them out again. They have many ideas about the best way to do this - so I have to remember not to be too efficient with carrying out boxes, becaus...

This week has been a wild ride. A ride, which felt at times, as if we were in an airplane spiraling downwards, only for the controls to be righted at the last minute. I had been prepared for some turbulence, but I certainly wasn't expecting to feel like I was in the passenger's seat of the Snow Birds or the Blue Angels. Spinning, then climbing at Mach 3, then plunging just as quickly, so that one could almost count the blades of grass on the ground. Well, now the plane has come in for landing. I'm leaving my seat belt on until the light goes off. Until then, there may be some unexpected stops. I know for sure that my luggage has shifted and I'll be careful when I open the overhead bins, so it doesn't fall on my head! I have gotten ahead of myself somewhat.
