Baby shoes are so scrumptious.  A friend of mine had a baby not too long ago, and I was invited to the shower.  It's been a long time since there was a baby in our house, and it was so much fun looking around at all the cool, new contraptions they have to take care of little ones now.  As soon as I saw these shoes, I knew they were the right decision.  They are probably completely impractical.  Chances are they won't stay on the child's feet, but come on!  Plaid!  TOO cute!!!  Of course, you can't buy shoes without having an outfit, so I had more fun picking out a little tiny pair of shorts and a top to go with it.  But really, it was all about the shoes baby. I brought the shoes into the house so they wouldn't get cold.  I put them on my table and looked at them all week.  I imagined the little guy taking his first steps in the shoes.  Wobbly.  Knees buckling, and then locking, to keep balance.  Scrumptious!
Then, just for fun, I took a contrasting picture of my baby's shoes.  He will be wearing them to driving practice.  More baby steps (in a grown-up way)

Isn't he just the sweetest thing? Those dark eyes turned blue and the black hair turned blond, and too quickly, this little guy grew taller than his dad and me. Today, it is eighteen years since that bright, blue-skies February morning when he made his debut. It has been eighteen years of many wonderful memories. I decided to make March my month to release the expired. So far...   I have thrown out all makeup with less than one drop in the bottom of the jar.    I finally dumped the cauliflower in cheeze sauce I made for Christmas dinner.      I threw out the Pepto Bismol from 2010 - not even opened. It feels good to be rid of them.  It also makes me happy that I won't have to worry about bacteria in old makeup   And that my husband won't get sick from my cooking    And that my health has been good enough not to need the Pepto Bismol at all. Inspired by these events, I went through my closets. It is almost time to swap the winter for the summer.  My winter clothes seemed to have stood the test of time for now.  However, my shoes were showing major signs of wear.  I decided on two pairs that I need to say "Farewell" to.
