Reflections

This probably looks like a million other pictures which have been taken at a million other ceremonies. For me, it was one in a million. One can't help but reflect on the many steps it took, to see him walk down the aisle. Time has passed, like a big run on sentence. Meet the teacher.....first day of school....."How was it son"....wipe a 'I-can't believe-he-is-already-in-school' tear away...wait for the bus...watch him get on the bus...wave...begin the journey of assemblies...awards ceremonies...concerts..... Parent-Teacher meetings...Parent Advisory Council meetings.....fund raiser meetings.... fairs.... Science Fairs...... Fun Fairs...Book Fairs........Meet the Teacher Nights.....fund- raising- dinners- so -your- kid- can- go- to- Gr.- Seven- camp -nights.....hot lunches......dropping a fast food lunch off at the school, when you suddenly realize you don't have any groceries in the house... making lunches.... ..getting phone calls about leaving lunches at home, and bringing them to the school.....going out for lunch to celebrate an achievement, or a birthday...field trips...permission forms.... writing notes on scrap pieces of paper to the teacher explaining that your child couldn't find the permission form, but you give him permission, and here's his medical number in case (God forbid) the teacher needs it.......writing cheques....signing him up for babysitting courses.....piano lessons....swimming lessons....Beavers...Cubs...Soccer...Baseball.....phone calls from the school about your child.....phone calls to the school about your child....finding homework under the bed....finding homework in the garbage with chicken bones on it....finding homework in another child's binder....hosting homework parties, where more party goes on than homework....helping with projects....nagging about getting projects done....tests....helping to study for tests...nagging about studying for tests....report cards....and then,... it's all over. and a new journey begins.
