Saving the World, One Snack At A Time

It's the beginning of another school year. Another year for Wonder Mom to save the world. Wonder Mom knows this requires spending a lot of money. She must replace last year's lost/damaged items. She must stock up on supplies of every shape and size. As Wonder Mom pays for [yet another pair of] shoes for her son, the message is received. The lunch cupboard needs reinforcement. Summer has come to an end, and the cupboard only houses a canister of peanut butter and the last of a loaf of moldy bread. Wonder Mom needs"grabbables". No time to lose! School starts soon. Action must be taken.
Wonder Mom's success in saving the world is contingent on grabbables. Without them, her heroic arsenal is in danger of causing untold household chaos. Wonder Mom must not take that chance. Instead, she flies through the grocery aisles, bypassing old-fashioned ingredients like flour and oatmeal and cocoa, and stocks her cart with grabbables . These essential items must be ready in the lunch cupboard, for children who run out the door to conquer the education world. Does Wonder Mom know grabbables are amongst the leading causes of budget overload? Absolutely. But without them, a child's education goals are in grave danger. No matter that they are small, and expensive. Wonder Mom forfeits nothing in this mission to make sure her babies succeed.
Wonder Mom is well aware the overpriced, undersized grabbables must be shoved into the bottom of the backpack, where they will stay for an indeterminate amount of time. Juice boxes. Packaged snacks. Granola bars. Cookies. Muffins. Spare change. Wonder Mom stocks the cupboard with these small and virtually imperishable items, so the child can grab a variety of them on the way out the door.
Every morning of the school year, Wonder Mom alerts the child as to the location of the grabbables. The child takes them and shoves them into the first available pocket of the backpack. Wonder Mom even stuffs some into the child's mouth, to avert the ten o'clock hunger pangs.
Wonder Mom's life experience in deliverance, convinces her, grabbables are the glue which holds the child's world together. Having access to a little package of crackers may be the only thing between them and the principal's office. A child must not be late to school because five minutes was wasted eating a bowl of Cheerios. No, Wonder Mom must do everything her super powers allow, to ensure little Johnny can grab and go. He must get that A+ in Basket Weaving. Therefore her cupboard must be stacked full, and replenished often.
Wonder Mom knows the pressures of the educational world are much greater than the occasional visit with the principal. A child's ability to cope with the school day, hinges on grabbables collected in the bottom of their backpack. Eating a month-old crushed granola bar found there, allows the child to have just enough in their tummies, so their brains can think through how to unlock the locker with the wrong hand. Then, powered by the crumbs they have consumed, they can balance their instrument on one foot, shove the backpack in with the other, and close the locker, seconds before being buried by an avalanche of stinky gym clothes and last weeks sandwiches, and still get to class on time. Providing them the artillery of grabbables, means Wonder Mom vicariously saves the world once again. The child enters the classroom, with enough energy to learn.
Each day these disasters are averted, Wonder Mom smiles, and turns towards the coffee pot to celebrate. Her time is cut short. Another message is delivered about a approaching calamity. The child can't find a pen to take notes. Wonder Mom chuckles to herself. This is a battle the child will have to fight on their own.
