How Well Do You Know?...


This year,I printed off a Valentine questionnaire for my husband and me. The idea is that you fill out one side and he the other to see how well you know each other. Then you exchange answers.

Well, apparently, after this many years together, we are virtual strangers. Neither one of us knew what was the last book the other read. We hadn't a clue about the one place the other was dying to visit on the planet. We made our best (wrong) guess about which reality television show the other would consider going to an audition for.

We were not disheartened by it. Nor were we terribly enlightened by the end of it. I bet if we filled it out again in a month, the answers would be different again.

The important thing is to know the important things about each other. I know that he likes it when I accompany him on errands. I also know that his favorite time of the day is when we sit down with a cup of tea after dinner and shoot the breeze about the day.

He knows me well enough to know that stopping at Wendy's to grab me a Frosty is a lovely way to show me he cares. And he doesn't need a questionnaire to figure out that I like it when he checks in with me part way through the day to see how my day is panning out.

Still it was a bit of fun filling in the questionnaire and sharing our answers. After all these years, it's good to know that there are still things to find out about each other.

Isn't he just the sweetest thing? Those dark eyes turned blue and the black hair turned blond, and too quickly, this little guy grew taller than his dad and me. Freedom

I decided to make March my month to release the expired. So far...   I have thrown out all makeup with less than one drop in the bottom of the jar.    I finally dumped the cauliflower in cheeze sauce I made for Christmas dinner.      I threw out the Pepto Bismol from 2010 - not even opened. It feels good to be rid of them.  It also makes me happy that I won't have to worry about bacteria in old makeup   And that my husband won't get sick from my cooking    And that my health has been good enough not to need the Pepto Bismol at all. Inspired by these events, I went through my closets. It is almost time to swap the winter for the summer.  My winter clothes seemed to have stood the test of time for now.  However, my shoes were showing major signs of wear.  I decided on two pairs that I need to say "Farewell" to.
