Adrenalin Rush

What a weekend!

  • We discovered that the kittens like to sit on Kola's back. Sometimes they stay there while she walks about. It is terribly cute. And she seems to enjoy it. Maybe its a blanket for her and a foot warmer for them. One day, I'll get a picture of it and post it. It should be a poster!!!!
  • We had a litter of 12 rabbits this morning. The largest yet. That mom is going to get the "bunny of the week" award.

  • And my dear sweet loving husband who is so accommodating to his wife (who gets so excited about getting the lights up), put up the lights and even indulged me in adding a few extras. It looks so festive. I LOVE IT! - can you tell he is sitting beside me?-

  • Somehow, the snowmen found their way out of the boxes and arranged themselves ever so nicely around the house and on the welcoming stoop at the front door. I must remember to write them a lovely thank you note for showing up and saving me the work at the beginning of December!

  • My daughter's volleyball team suffered a devastating (unfairly refereed) defeat in their bid to attend the Provincials. That was Thursday night. It was a somber homecoming. The loss forced them into a 4 game battle to still be able to get a berth. So they played game #1 yesterday. You know the saying "Sing like nobody's listening, Dance like nobody's watching?" Well they "Played like they'd never lost". I was soooooooo proud of them. I just about cried when the game was over. They took it in three. Tomorrow, they are off to the Island to play the other games. If you read this in time, send a little prayer up for them.

  • Today, just to add to the adrenalin rush, my husband and daughter's soccer team played a District Soccer Cup game. They WONNNNNNNNN!!!!!!! (In his words) In an exhausting and gruelling 30-minute overtime the girls found there second wind and clearly defeated lasts years provincial champions 3-1. So now they are onto the Finals and maybe some book signing. The Finals aren't until the 29th of March 2008. So at least we don't have to panic about that one!

  • And one more exciting bit of news! My #1 son played with his school's marching band at the BC Lions/Saskatchewan Roughriders Western Conference Final this afternoon. He was on the big screen TV at the game. He said he wanted to say "hi mom" but needed to concentrate on playing.
    Wow, I don't know how much more excitement one body can take!!! Time to curl up with a good book...or...hang on...the laundry hasn't been done yet.

Isn't he just the sweetest thing? Those dark eyes turned blue and the black hair turned blond, and too quickly, this little guy grew taller than his dad and me. Today, it is eighteen years since that bright, blue-skies February morning when he made his debut. It has been eighteen years of many wonderful memories. Very early, I heard him chuckle at his sister's antics. He used to crawl on his belly, pulling himself along with his elbows. I decided to make March my month to release the expired. So far...   I have thrown out all makeup with less than one drop in the bottom of the jar.    I finally dumped the cauliflower in cheeze sauce I made for Christmas dinner.      I threw out the Pepto Bismol from 2010 - not even opened. It feels good to be rid of them.  It also makes me happy that I won't have to worry about bacteria in old makeup   And that my husband won't get sick from my cooking    And that my health has been good enough not to need the Pepto Bismol at all. Inspired by these events, I went through my closets. It is almost time to swap the winter for the summer.  My winter clothes seemed to have stood the test of time for now.  However, my shoes were showing major signs of wear.  I decided on two pairs that I need to say "Farewell" to.
